PRGRPHS - "Resplendent Entropy"
The second single off the band's sixth EP "Light Refracts, Flickers Back."
Available November 17th everywhere.

This was the first song Dan and Chris wrote with Riley, who joined us on bass in 2022, as well as the first PRGRPHS song composed since the pandemic put the band on hiatus back in 2020. It's a joyous and communal bit of introspection that was sorely missed, and a lot of its journey during the songwriting process was centered on working out the kinks and waking back up, so to speak, after a seemingly interminable forced hibernation. The first public domain sample comes from the 1934 B-movie Maniac, screenplay by Hildagarde Stadie, hinting at the struggle and imposter syndrome inherent in trying to revive our voice as a small-time band, and during the closing is a snippet of the 1938 melodrama Wives Under Suspicion (written by Myles Connolly), which like the song itself, reflects on a world and love lost to time and the reluctance to forge ahead despite, or perhaps because of, the overwhelming grief.
